It has been unanimously decided that Kevin Keeling was born and processed. Everything that follows is speculation, conjecture, and more than likely exaggeration fueled by rumor.

He spent the formative first ten-point-five years of life, parents in tow, wandering around most of Europe, enjoying the benefits of being an Army Brat. These travels provided exposure to some of the greatest art and diverse cultures in the world, and since they had not yet invented the child harness, he got around quite a bit, low to the ground and at speed. This adventuring seemed to be when his love of art, as well as his own talent, began to develop.

Following hot on the heels of his father’s retirement, came the great migration from Heidelberg, Germany to Nashville, Tennessee. This represented a quantum environmental shift, to say the least. The change, in and of itself, became just another adventure to learn from and enjoy.

Kevin expanded proportionately, and gravitationally, spending time drawing and painting, going to school, taking summers off, reading books and listening to music. He proceeded to high school, where he was introduced to John Ashworth, one of the finest (art) teachers a student could ask for, and one of the greatest influences imaginable. Kevin graduated high school, having had many adventures, managing to circumvent any serious interactions or entanglement with legal forces beyond his ability to avoid or escape. He then ( miraculously ) advanced to college where he would, after additional sketchy adventures, graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts from The Atlanta College of Art (SCAD).

He has since worked in a storied and colorful variety of jobs, in different states ( locales… NOT altered conditions, ) including: Motorcycle sales and parts for Castle Powersports, Comic Book sales for Collector's World, Hotel Security in Key West, and Box Slinger for UPS. He has also co-scripted an award winning short film ( "The Unconventional Gourmet" with his wife Wendy ) as well as becoming a board member for The Rendezvous Film Festival at Amelia Island and a board member for The Rendezvous Scare Fest in Florida. All the while, doing freelance and print work for various clients. The results of these experiences have honed his thought processes, subject matter, perspectives, mediums and content, distilling them into what can be cautiously described as "Essence of Cognitive Anarchy".

His influences are varied and continually evolving. Included among these are: Maxfield Parrish, Francisco Goya, Leonardo DaVinci, Andy Warhol, Frank Miller, Frank Frazetta, Kent Williams, Ralph McQuarrie, Pablo Picasso, H.R. Giger, Bill Sienkewicz, Vincent Van Gogh, Katsuhiro Otomo, Hugh Syme, Gottried Helnwein, Isaac Asimov, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, John J. Muth, Dave McKean, Syd Mead, Alan Moore, Frank Herbert, and Neil Gaiman, and a grand host of others.

Kevin’s more esoteric work is a manic, alchemical mix of Photography, Digital Painting and Traditional Rendering. It’s been woven together by scanners and software and long hours fidgeting about. His process has also been enhanced by emotional moodswings, musical ambience, flashes of inspiration, and the odd smattering of provocative, stunningly obscene, pyrotechnical, verbal outbursts… usually at astonishingly excessive volume. These chaotic "Expression Sessions" resulting in some visually stunning Happy Accidents.

He also enjoys attempting to capture minutia in the mundane: Sunsets, Thickets, Stone, Rust and the Sky, the everyday beauty in the surrounding normal.

Some of Kevin's favorite hobbies include: Football ( of the Soccer variety ), Jetskis ( the stand-up kind only ) Motorcycle riding / track days, swimming in the ocean and uselessly attempting to find a rational and consistent sleep schedule.

All of this… everything has led to his arrival at this exact point in time, with you ( Poor Soul ) reading this and quickly wondering "How did ever I stumble across this idiot?"

Kevin hopes you enjoy some of the results displayed here.

IF you have any comments, positive or negative, please feel free to post them. IF the comments are of the negative variety, Kevin would prefer they be kept to an honest/professional critique and not a disparate tirade against his person ( he's already an easy enough target.)

Thank You Again For Visiting,
Enjoy and Have a Nice Day.
